Visited the small town of Delft today, about 10-15km South-East from the centre of The Hague. It’s a lovely looking place, and some of the buildings were spectacular. Canals criss cross the city, lined with narrow cobbled roads and little back lanes. Like everywhere in Holland, bikes dominate.
We really struggled to find somewhere to camp tonight. What we thought was the ultimate campsite turned out to be a fishing hotspot. There was also the three most scummy neds of Delft blasting around on their scooters. We were just about to give up looking for a place when a couple walked past and offered us a place to stay. They were nearby farmers, and were curious to learn about our travels. They let us camp in their back garden and gave us access to the hut which had a kitchen and electricity. Even got a shower in the morning. To An and Bart, I thank you.
