Potsdam is a nice little town just South West of Berlin. I met up with Clara and Tino yesterday who have kindly let me stay in their flat and today we had a look around the Sanssouci Park. It translates from French as ‘without concerns’ or ‘carefree’ and it’s a well chilled out place. It’s a massive park that was built for Frederick the Great around the late 18th century and has many different styles of buildings. Some of them are exhibitions. This guy had some serious money though. After we visited the Neuer Garten and had some tasty beer from the Meierei that was brewed only feet away from us!
This afternoon after some kebabs the weather changed from being 30 degrees and sunny to a thunderstorm and hailstones within 5 minutes. It was crazy. Apparently it’s often like that here in the summer.
I’ve had a nice time here in Potsdam. I’m off to Berlin tomorrow which could be tricky to get around. I need to head to Wedding in the Northwest so hopefully no getting lost!
